My biggest passions in life are my family, and health.
I feel truly healthy when I am nourishing my body with good food, and getting lots of exercise! I am a bit of an all rounder with my exercise, I absolutely love yoga, both strong flowing as well as relaxation, and I also love a good high intensity spin or HIT class at the gym.
I use a range of essential oils to support my body with the various ways that I move it.
Here is a breakdown of my favourites..
AROMATOUCH – The massage blend is another favourite before exercise. This blend has a combination of oils that are great for circulation and relaxing the muscles. This blend is a preference before yoga for me because of its ability to move an individual from stiffness of heart and mind to openness and flexibility, releasing tension and allowing the heart to reopen to life..
CYPRESS – is the oil of flow and motion, this powerful oil creates energetic flow and emotional catharsis. stagnant energies are brought into motion through the fluid energy of this oil. Cypress teaches the soul how to let go of the past by moving with the flow of life. For these reasons, it is a beautiful addition to the diffuser during a yoga practice, as well as diluted with fractionated coconut oil and rubbed into legs and arms.
BALANCE – the grounding blend, is a combination of tree oils and roots. Trees live in the present moment. they are not in a hurry. they are stable. Balance strengthens a connection with the lower body and with the earth, creating a calm and stable whole self. I use this one in a spritzer, and spritz on my yoga mat right at the end of my practive when I am ready for relaxation. This beautiful blend whisps away any stress or anxious feelings that I may have been experiencing before the class and allows me to really relax and unwind.
FRANKINCENSE + VETIVER – This combo is my go to for the diffuser during a yoga or meditation practice. Both of these oils are very calming to the central nervous system and really assist me in getting into a clear and relaxed state. vetiver brings the individual back down to earth. it assists them in grounding to the physical world, it also assists individuals in deeply connecting with what they think and feel. Frankincense is a powerful cleanser of spiritual darkness, assisting in pulling the 'scales of darkness' from the eyes. "through connecting the soul with its inner light, this oil reveals the truth." ICE BLUE – The muscular blend, this one speaks for itself! It is amazing for soothing muscles and joints. I use it both before and after exercise to help with the tight achey muscles and also to speed up recovery. A few drops mixed with some fractionated coconut oil and rubbed into your tired muscles is oh so soothing – and adding a gentle warm heat pack just tops it off!
PEPPERMINT – A drop of peppermint under the tongue gives me an instant energy boost, keeps me alert and ready for a good workout! This oil is my preference for cardio movement, as it really clears my airways which helps me breathe clearly when I am exerting myself. No more of that gasping for air!
